Who would YOU vote for?
This is your opportunity to share your opinion with regards to who you would vote for as Lieutenant Governor. Thank you.
I would vote on neither of these canidates because they do not represent to the tee what I believe should be done in California. It would be very interesting to see a third party canidate win, and even though he has military experience, it wont cut it in my opinion this time. If I was stuck voting for one of these people, Gavin Newsom would probably get my vote. Not only does his name sound cool, but It is his policies and his energy that compells me that he might be the good canidate for this position. So in the end thats who i'd vote for. -Julio C. Basso
I voted for Janice Hahn for this primary. I voted for her because she seems to have alot of the same points of views on certain policies such as education. Like Jesus said, her policies and Gavin Newsom's policies are alike, but it seems as if Janice Hahn has a better perspective on helping california and it seems as though she has a better plan on what can be done to make california better.
I don't think I would vote for any of these candidates. It is either because their goals are in areas that don't seem all that important to me, or I just disagree completely. Also, I feel that Newsom seems like a wishy-washy candidate. He seems to only go through general aspects and not really talk about his goals once he is elected. He just seems to want to get the popular vote. Castillo's policies don't necessarily fit in with the rest of us, making me feel that I vote for him, I will get nothing back. And I just don't agree at all with Levitt's immigration policy. Maybe if I looked more into Hahn, I could possibly vote for her, but at the moment, I have no preference. -Alexandra Vinalay
For Lieutenant Governor I would vote for Newsom. I think Jimi Castillo is too focused on the environment when I think the most important part of this job is to be on the UC and CSU boards to help out in education. I do not like Scott Levitt's stance on education. Schools should not just be in English because there are students with potential to succeed, they just need help from programs like ESL. Therefore I would vote for Newsom because he is a democrat. Those his position on education is not clearly stated, I am almost certain it cannot be worst than that of the Republican candidate's. -Gabriel
I would vote for Newsom just because of process of elimination. I do not agree with Castillo's perspective because he seems to be more about the environment and he is for the Green Party. And for Levitt, I just see that his opinion about English should only be taught in schools is bogus. Why would you think that teaching other languages are bad? This is why I would vote for Newsom, just because the others do not satisfy my opinions.
For California Lieutenant Governor, I would pick Jimi Castillo because he wants to help the education. For the education, he wants to make sure that children are well taken care of and that they have changed schools by providing more to the future generations. He wants to stop the art cutting meaning that they want more funds to the art programs that are now in the schools. DENISE GARCIA
I would vote for Gavin Newson because of his more liberal beliefs. Although he is not very specific with his policies on education and illegal immigrants, I like that he supports gay and lesbian marriage and that he really wants to help the environment. I am also a strong advocate for helping the environment and believe that we need to protect and take good care of it so that we could have a healthy and clean future. I would have liked more information on his immigration policies because that also determines who I vote for. I wouldn't vote for a candidate who wants to enforce our borders and not give any benefits to illegal immigrants. I believe Gavin Newson would be the best candidate out of the other two. --Celeste
