Gavin Newsom--Positions

Overall, Newsom has quite liberal views regarding different issues. With regards to marriage, he is an advocate and supporter of Same-Sex marriage, and back in 2008 although he was against Prop 8, his words were twisted and used in a support for Prop 8 campaign. Socially, Newsom has been heavily involved with helping decrease the percentage of homeless persons in the San Francisco area. He was able to establish two organizations/programs that serve to help the homeless people. Economically, Newsom believes that more revenue should be made towards the state as well as a high rate of exports to other states. However, on his website the only visible link under his policy is "Environment" and that is it. His stance on this is to advance California’s old school tradition of conserving resources and environmental policy through being the Lieutenant Governor. In his only policy titled "Environment" Newsom greatly focuses and emphasizes his planned work on the environment and he briefly touches on other of his positions and what he plans to do but only briefly.
